Abstract
This paper first gave an account of the background and necessity of the digitalized research of Shuowen theory, and then introduced the train of thought on designing the construction of the corpus-based digitalized environment for Shuowen. At last, this paper illustrated some preliminary works by using computer to study Shuowen and prospected the huge effect the digitalized Shuowen theory research would pIay on the innovation of the research of Chinese characters.
