Abstract
Aiming at some chaotic pronunciations which exist in the society presently, we take bēibāo (背包) for example and have made a comparatively comprehensive survey. The objects include some authoritative Chinese dictionaries and Chinese-foreign dictionaries, the outline of PSC and the syllabus of teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, pupils and their parents, social groups and vocal media. There is evidence that the pronunciation of this word has changed in actual use. Most of the public pronounce it as bēibāo while some authoritative publications which influence people’s lingual life deeply and widely still preserve it as bèibāo. So we suggest that in accordance with the development of the language itseif, language planning should also be dynamic so that it can better supervise our language application.
