Abstract
This paper discusses the qingsheng (輕聲) standardization in the Test of Putonghua comprehension, based on investigating some words which would be read as qingsheng in the Practical Program of the Test of Putonghua Comprehension. Accordingly, this paper analyzes the pronunciation of qingsheng in the Program. And, the demarcation of qingsheng in the Program is elucidated with respecting language facts, according to rules of language evolution and being usable.
