It reveals the factors leading to these errors by contrasting Chinese with English, discriminating Chinese synonyms, observing and studying students’ strategy of learning, and examining the Chinese textbooks and the dictionaries used in teaching and learning Chinese. In the end, the article makes some suggestions on how to reduce these errors.
