A Study on the Perception of General Language and Writing of People in Rural Gansu (Article written in Chinese)

ZHAO Xiaogang

Abstract

This article analyzes the perception of general language and writing of people in rural Gansu. The analysis concludes that the perception of general language and writing varies in terms of the population of different groups. The different views towards language use, however, present some common patterns. On the one hand, the overwhelming majority of people are aware that the command of general language and writing is essential to the human relations; on the other hand, they are less interested in learning and using general language and writing. Therefore, such cases should be summarized; awareness of taking general language and writing as a social responsibility be raised; the importance of learning and using the general language and writing be made explicit.
