Abstract
In recent years, a special group of the words — X Ke (X guest) — has come into Chinese lexicon due to its highly frequent use. X Ke words enjoy a greater popularity on the Internet and even permeate into print media. This paper studies X Ke words diachronically and synchronically, in order to further explore the relationship between lexicalization and grammaticalization and make in-depth reasonable explanations.
