Abstract
The open model of dictionary compilation and its sharing mechanism take advantage of network in dictionary making. Experts and other people all interactively contribute to the compilation. The dictionaries are highly shared by the whole community and the end users at large. The network-based electronic dictionaries have five strengths; and the open model has five basic points.
