The Quality and Quantity Issue in Writing Instruction in the New and Old Chinese Language Curriculum — Analysis from the Perspectives of Writing Quantity and Marking Method (Article written in Chinese)

Abstract

In the teaching of writing, “quantity” refers to the frequency of writing training or practice sessions, and the number of words in the writing, while “quality” refers to students’ actual writing performance. The focus of this paper is the quality and quantity issue in writing instruction against a background of curriculum reform. A number of suggestions are provided, aiming at improving current writing instruction and enhancing the level of students’ writing.
