In response to Hong Kong’s demand for high-quality early childhood education, the Faculty of Education will offer a new Bachelor of Education programme in Early Childhood Education from the academic year 2007-08. This is a three-year part-time degree programme for principals and teachers in early childhood establishments, social workers and other professionals interested in early childhood (0-8 years) education. The degree-level programme aims to raise the overall quality of early childhood education in Hong Kong.
The Programme will be taught by the various departments of the Faculty of Education. A special feature of the Programme is the inclusion of Enhancement Courses which are offered by other departments of the University. This enables students to apply the professional knowledge and insight acquired more effectively in the workplace.
This Programme is linked to the Faculty’s Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education so as to provide further advanced studies for professional early childhood educators.
