AbstractIn this paper, the purposes, content, method and evaluation of moral education teaching in schools are discussed. The author also examines the views of several educationalists on this subject. He believes that most of the content and methods as suggested by Butts and Remy could be adopted to make teaching more effective in Hong Kong. He further criticizes some misconceptions concerning moral education found in the local scene.
