The Theory and Practice of Self-development Education (Article written in Chinese)

Abstract

Self-development education means the educator creates and establishes conditions and applies ego-cognition theories and self-organization theories synthetically to the education for students, guiding the student to know himself, develop himself, to be a self-developing person. It is also called self-education. It includes five parts: self-awareness, self-cognition, self-cordiality, self-physique and self-behavior. Self-awareness is the central part of self-education. It is a behavior pattern of self-direction, self-operation, self-regulation and self-encouragement which gradually come into being in educational practice. When there is the “four-selves”, there is self-consciousness.
