Cognitive And Affective Costs of Bilingual Education: A Look at The Hong Kong Experience

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of language of instruction in schools on divergent thinking, self-esteem, and locus of control in expatriate and Hong Kong Chinese adolescents. In particular, some cognitive and affective costs of the immersion method of bilingual education are examined.
