How to create CD Label?

 

In general, you can create your own CD label by using the application "CD Label Creator". It is a software bundle with "Easy CD Creator". All MMPCs inside IT Lab 1 have been installed with this software. However, the MMPCs does not provide printing service and therefore you have to save the file as PDF format (by using Adobe Acrobat) and then do the printing somewhere else (may be User Area of ITSC or home printer).

 

Preparation:

 

Remark: No selling service will be provided in IT Lab 1. User need to bring their own CD-R or CD-RW.

 

Procedures:

1. Launch CD Label Creator from Start -> Program Files -> Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 -> Applications -> CD Label Creator.

2. You can create front cover, back cover and CD label there with selecting the appropriate tab. The software allows you to change the theme or background color (Select "Format" -> "Change Theme" / "Change Background" from the menu bar).

a. Change Theme - Select different themes then click "OK" can apply the selected themes

b. Change Background

- Click "Select a picture" / "Select a color" button to insert picture / convert background color

- Select the target on "2. Select where it should go:" to apply the changes

3. By the way, you can add picture as the background of cover or label (Select "Add" -> "Picture"), the application only support BMP and JPEG formats, and you can resize the picture here.

4. You can also add text to the cover or label (Selet "Add" -> "Text") and you can change the size, color, font etc.

5. After you finished the design, you can print the cover or label out (Select "File" -> "Print"). Remember to select appropriate type from "Paper Type" tab and user need to change the page setup by pressing "Page Setup" button.

6. For CD label, the software got different brands label type. Select the appropriate paper type and then select the printer to "Acrobat Distiller", then click "OK" to print to PDF file.

7. Save the PDF file to the target disk (Floppy or CD-RW).

 

* For CD front cover or back cover, you can print it to A4 plain paper and then cut it yourself.
