USE OF COMPUTER

  1. The office computer is property of the Faculty of Education. Student should only use the computes for research, academic activities or other pre-approved activities. Student who makes use of the machine to conduct any commercial activities is strictly prohibited. The faculty reserves the right to terminate the provision of computer to the student who misuse the office computer.

  2. Like all other office computers or shared computers in the campus, by using the PGS office computer, student is automatically bounded by the University’s policies and terms of conditions posted at http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/itsc/onlineapp/accounts/accounts-terms.html.

  3. To protect the environment, please be reminded to power off the computers after use and try best to use electronic media as much as possible. Think twice before printing anything and always do duplex printing.

  4. The office computer has been installed with anti-virus software (Kaspersky). Student does not need to install any antivirus software. Otherwise, it will slow down the machine and results in fault alert.

  5. As an user of the office computer, student is not allowed to install any illegal software that infringes the copyright ordinance of HKSAR. If you want to install any personal software, you must provide proof of license or certificates to the computer staff. Otherwise, the student who uses illegal software is fully responsible for all the legal responsibility for the infringement of copyright ordinance.

  6. Your login account (username and password) is privacy information and should not share or disclose to any others under any circumstances.

  7. Your data is valuable. You are suggested to save your own data at Drive D: for easy management. To protect your own data, you are recommended to perform data backup regularly. This helps to minimize the loss of data when system crashes or hard drive failure occurs. As the owner of your data, you should take care of it seriously.

  8. Each office computer is configured base on location and with inventory record. Student does not allow to move or relocate the computer.When change of seat is necessary, you should request for Windows reinstallation of the new PC and then carry your own data to the new machines.

  9. Before leaving the University, student is recommended to backup all personal data and delete them. The office computer will then return to ETU office for reformatting, windows reinstallation and then assign to another user.
