Served variously as an English teacher, department head, and teacher educator in the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors in Hong Kong, mainland China, the Middle East and Europe. Courses taught include English Language Teaching Theory and Methodology, and Discourse Analysis.

Research interests include written discourse, contrastive rhetoric, and bilingual education.
