Professor Shiu received a PhD in cognitive psychology from the
University of California, San Diego, in 1994. From 1994 to1996, he was a post-doctoral
research fellow at the Mental Health Research Institute, University of Michigan, Ann
Arbor. He joined the department in 1996.
