How to convert MPEG / DAT files to AVI files?

This part of manual describes the conversions from MPEG / DAT files to AVI files. The advantage of AVI files is that can be edit under Studio Version 7 installed in IT Lab 1 MMPCs.

Procedures:

1. Launch the folder named "Multi-media Packages" on the window desktop.

2. Launch the application named "VideoPak".

3. Click "OK" to start the software.

4. Select the input source from "Input file" tab and select the target file from "Output file" tab. You can select the output file type (AVI / WMV). Make sure the setting is same as follow if you're going to convert the file to AVI file. If you request a higher quality file, select "Advanced..." from "Video compressor to write AVI file" and set the compression to 100 and click "OK". After all click "Start" to begin the convert process.

Note: For those who plan to edit AVI file with Studio Version 7, you must convert the output file to AVI format.

5. After the convertion completed, click "Exit" to close the application. The convert time is related to the length of your input file. And note that the AVI file size will be much bigger than the original file (e.g. DAT or MPEG file).
