Participate in PISA as a School

The international assessment indicator adopted by PISA can present students’ literacy of different countries. This tool can help schools to interprete the effectiveness of its schooling and students’ learning. If it can cope with appropriate improvement policies, students can learn better, teachers can teach better and the schooling can be developed better.

Things to Do

Schools will receive their own students' results in relation to the international results from the Main Survey assessment. Research assistants from the Chinese University of Hong Kong will be responsible for conducting the assessment.

The main survey will take place between April and May. Schools have to arrange a time within this period for the assessment session, and our Test Administrators will come to the schools to conduct the assessment in the school.

Participating schools will delegate individual School Co-ordinator (SC) to be the liaison between the school and the staff of HKPISA Centre; and to arrange the test activities.

The principal will also have to complete a School Questionnaire, which takes about 20 minutes to complete.

To acknowledge the participation of the schools, they will receive:

* a Certificate of Participation;
* a School Report.

How to Participate

Teachers and school personnel can attend seminars, conferences and workshops of HKPISA which can have sharings and discussions on educational development and implications.

Teachers and school personnel can visit HKPISA website and OECD website for more in-depth information and findings on PISA. Findings in HKPISA can provide direction for schools’ instructional effort and for students’ learning; identify curriculum strengths and weaknesses; and renders valid and reliable tools for the authority to monitor achievement levels in education.
