Quality Schools in Action (2003-2004)

"Quality Schools in Action" (QSA) project is a school improvement project consolidated from the experience gained from the 3-year Accelerated Schools in Quality Education Project (HK-ASP) and the 2-year Quality Schools Project (QSP). The HK-ASP (1998-2001), QSP (2001-2003) and QSA (2003-2004) projects are conducted by the Faculty of Education and the Hong Kong Institute of Educational Research, CUHK. The enormous effort laid by the CUHK staff for the past two projects has already sped up the acquisition of knowledge and the strategies for igniting school changes.

QSA (2003-2004) aims at giving support to (1) schools that want to strive for excellence; (2) principals that would like to transform the school into a workplace with full learning capacity in an inspiring environment. QSA project staffs work closely with staffs of the Regional Education Officers, Education & Manpower Bureau so that school improvement knowledge and the proven successful experience may be disseminated widely in the Hong Kong school sector. Furthermore, it is expected that the research findings will be extremely important for the policy makers to acquire a holistic understanding of how schools improve.

63 schools participate in the QSA: 13 new participating schools for school improvement, another 10 schools come from CUHK partner schools as core network schools, 40 schools are selected as linked schools. The QSA is supported by the Quality Education Fund, HKSAR.
