Educational Value Orientation in Educational Reform

Abstract

A pressing problem in the implementation of educational reform in China is the need to establish proper educational orientation. China would benefit from breakthroughs in value orientation which focus not only on the social, instrumental function of education but also on the role of edcuation in fostering human development. The success of educational reform that China badly needs today relies on the popularization of the ideology of humanistic education.
