Home-School Links

PANG I-Wah

Abstract

This paper is based on one of the focus studies in the Home-School Cooperation Research commissioned by the Hong Kong Education Department. Via questionnaires, interviews, focus group discussions and analyses of school documents, the study identified 8 purposes and 27 practices of home-school links in Hong Kong schools. The paper presents these practices briefly and reports some views on the practices collected from the various people concerned. Concluding the paper, the author brings out a few identified problems behind the scene of home-school links and attempts to make some suggestions to schools about developing links with parents in Hong Kong.
