Equality and Participation: Promotion of Professional Growth Through Collaborative Teaching (Article written in Chinese)

Abstract

The professional growth of teachers is crucial for successful curriculum reform. A good means to promote such professional growth is the collaboration between school teachers and external professionals. This paper reports on a collaborative project on the teaching of classic poems developed by school teachers and external professionals. The focus of discussion is the collaborative relationship between the two parties and the effective approach of collaboration. The author views the collaborative project as action to improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning; its nature similar to action learning. The collaboration emphasizes the promotion of professional growth through reflective practice of the participants, with equality and participation as its rationale.
