Introduction
Dr. KOU previously taught Putonghua and Chinese as a second language at the Yale-China Chinese Language Centre at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Currently, her role at CUHK's Faculty of Education involves teaching various courses, including Subject Curriculum and Teaching (with a Major in Chinese Language and a Minor in Putonghua Language), Chinese Linguistics, and Curriculum and Instruction Design for Putonghua as a medium of instruction (PMI) in Chinese Language Education. She also oversees elementary and advanced Putonghua courses and has prior experience teaching Early Childhood Language Education and Development (Chinese).

Dr. KOU is presently the Vice Chair of the Putonghua Subject Committee for the Hong Kong Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers (LPAT) and has previously held the role of a Putonghua oral test examiner for LPAT.
