An ASP School?
A School of Powerful Learning !

Participating in the Accelerated School Project since September 1998 has developed a quality culture in the school. It has brought most significant benefits to staff development and improved student learning.
The training workshops organised by the ASP team for our Staff Development programme and the regular consultation sessions have built a very strong team spirit amongst the staff. Colleagues have become critical friends of each other and stimulate each other in thieir professional development with the main focus on teaching skills and strategy.
I must highly commend the team of development officers assigned to work with our school. Their open, friendly, supportive, non-judgemental attitudes and their dedication to their work are the key to the success of the programme and I look forward with enthusiasm to further collaboration with them in bringing the much needed educational reform to Hong Kong.
Our many effective educational practices have been endorsed by the team of experts from the Chinese University and this has helped us to rise to greater heights by Building On Strengths, a principle of ASP. Our teaching is effective on the practical side but we lack academic support and endorsement. This innovative and dynamic university-school partnership has indeed brought a comprehensive school change towards quality education.
Now that we have built up a quality school culture and good practices, we would be able to disseminate them to other schools by organising clusters of key school and associate schools.

每次工作坊後，對我也有很大的衝擊。我並非得到了甚麼天書、必讀筆記，而是受到感染。學校發展主任對教育那種熱誠，令我這位前線的教育工作者也感到汗顏。工作坊是明顯經過了細心的策劃，既有新意，又有啟發性，更能令我們反思，這就是教育最重要的元素，因此，躍進學校計劃是「非一般」的計劃，而是「身教」計劃。

「躍進學校計劃」是學校的良師益友，它在學校裏起着潛移默化的作用，它協助學校檢視現況，建構願景，帶領管理人員認識權責的分配，並將有效的學習理念引入學校。「躍進學校計劃」成功地獲得老師的信任，視為最可靠的伙伴，皆因它既有理論依據，亦講求實際。每一個由「躍進學校計劃」籌辦的工作坊，均帶給老師們強效學習的親身體驗。學校發展主任利用高效能的活動，深入淺出地帶領老師引證理論的可行性，進而把理論引入課堂及實際工作環境中，讓老師體會到在埋頭苦幹之餘，亦需仰首檢視教學和工作的成效，通過朋輩間的互助，尋求合適的路向。大學與學校間的伙伴關係是值得推廣的合作文化，它對教育改革的正面影響實在不容忽視。
