culture of organizational learning in their own schools. In partnership with the Quality School Improvement Project (QSIP), a secondary school in Hong Kong has developed close collaboration with the school development officers in a wide spectrum of areas covering school planning and self-evaluation, learning and teaching as well as student development. To secure and sustain the organizational learning culture, the school leaders find it necessary to build a “culture of inquiry”, conceptualize the achievements attained, and make on-going review to improve practices. Concurrently, Liberal Studies teachers of another secondary school in the QSIP have built a learning culture in the subject department. Being collaborative learners, teachers now find their professional capacities and efficacy enhanced when they play a more significant role in the development of the subject. While teamwork can be a vehicle for organizational learning, it depends on how the school leaders extend the team learning culture in the school. In this study, emergent themes that unlock the possibilities for organizational learning will be explored. |
