Aside from academic learning, there is now increasing recognition that well-being is a critical outcome in its own right. However, students across the globe especially in Greater China are suffering from low levels of well-being. Chinese students had among the lowest well-being scores in the world despite scoring very high in terms of academic achievement. This positive education symposium puts the spotlight on both learning and well-being, recognizing that both are important for students’ optimal whole-person development. It gathers researchers, students, and educators who are passionate about understanding and enhancing well-being in educational contexts. This symposium will serve as a platform for nurturing collaborations between researchers in Hong Kong and Shanghai under the auspices of the Shanghai-Hong Kong University Alliance. It comprises of roundtable meetings/discussions between Hong Kong and Shanghai-based researchers, postgraduate student presentations, and research presentations.
