The Faculty of Education is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2025. A Logo Design Competition was organised earlier to commemorate this important milestone, and a winning design was selected by a panel of judges.
Our alumna Dr. Sun Nim Yan Vera is the winner of the competition, and the winning design will be used in the promotional materials of the Faculty for the anniversary celebration.
The Faculty sincerely thank all participants for supporting the competition. We would also like to convey our gratitude to the panel of judges: Prof. Fan Xitao, Ms. Au Hoi Lam and Prof. Suzannie Leung.
About the Logo
The commemorative logo for the 60th anniversary of the Faculty of Education at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) encapsulates six decades of educational leadership, innovation, and scholarly achievement. This thoughtfully crafted design weaves together multiple symbolic elements to represent the Faculty's enduring legacy and forward-looking vision.
Central to the design is an innovative visual interplay where an exclamation mark creates the negative space forming the numerals "60." This dynamic element symbolises the Faculty's profound and lasting impact on education, both locally and globally. Within the exclamation mark, a distinctive star emblem represents the illumination of minds and the spark of discovery that characterises the Faculty's approach to education. This stellar element symbolises the Faculty's commitment to nurturing insight, fostering innovation, and inspiring excellence in both professional practice and academic research.
The design features a carefully positioned silhouette of a graduate adorned with the traditional square academic cap, representing the countless learners who have emerged from the Faculty's nurturing environment. The graduate's outward-facing stance symbolises our alumni's readiness to engage with the world and their commitment to making meaningful contributions to society and the field of education.
