Prof. Leung Kit Ying Suzannie, Department of Curriculum and Instruction
Many scholars have noted that teachers with higher academic qualifications tend to exhibit greater self-efficacy and effectiveness in their teaching. As a teacher educator and programme coordinator, I feel privileged to nurture a group of undergraduate and postgraduate students in early childhood education at CUHK, one of Hong Kong's leading universities. Having previously worked as a kindergarten teacher in Hong Kong, I aspire to be a role model for our students by providing them with professional and academic aspirations, facilitating them to become professional leaders in the field who can positively influence the future of children in Hong Kong.
Prof. Ou Dongshu, Department of Educational Administration and Policy
My teaching philosophy blends innovative, research-driven methods with real-world relevance, inspiring educators—practicing and aspiring—to embrace critical thinking and adaptability. I foster an inclusive environment that bridges theory and practice, tackling issues like AI and equity. By nurturing their well-being and encouraging career growth, I aim to empower visionary educators with the resilience and skills to drive transformative change in education and society.
Prof. Ng Fei Yin Florrie, Department of Educational Psychology
I firmly believe that teaching is one of the most honorable professions because it shapes lives and inspires future generations. I feel very privileged to work with teachers and related professionals, helping them expand their knowledge and refine their skills. In my teaching, I emphasize that teachers make real-world connections with the course material and apply their knowledge in practice. I also seek to foster autonomy, encouraging my students to develop their own ideas and take ownership of their learning. My hope is that all teachers recognize the potential in their students and, with patience, wisdom and love, inspire them to grow into their best selves.
Prof. Poon Tsz Chun Eric, Department of Sports Science and Physical Education
As a sports science educator, I aim to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and leadership needed to thrive in modern physical education and sports training. The teaching of sports science should not be limited to traditional lectures, but should emphasize the integration of research theory into daily practice, enabling students to effectively meet the demands for practical skills and technological innovation in today’s society. I strive to inspire future physical educators who not only excel in their professional fields, but also share their passion for sports in every corner of society, fostering a healthier and more vibrant Hong Kong.
Mr. Liu Chi Fung, Physical Education Unit
The impact of Physical Education teaching significantly hinges on the teacher's unwavering dedication and passion. I am committed to actively engaging with students and cultivating their enthusiasm for physical activity. By nurturing a supportive atmosphere, I promote teamwork, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to health, equipping students with essential skills that enhance their overall well-being, personal development, and future success in all aspects of life.
