  2. A copy of the most recent school report (MUST be submitted for each application)

Course Commencement

Goal

Gifted and talented students often have special learning needs and styles. 2026 Spring Program for the Gifted and Talented is designed to provide diverse stimulating and highly challenging off-school learning opportunities for gifted students, and aims to help them explore and develop their talents and potential in an enriched learning environment.

Program Content

(1) Courses and Workshops for Students

A wide variety of courses and workshops are open to application for Primary 3 through Secondary 6 students. Instructors are professors and lecturers of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, experienced teachers in gifted education, and experts in different professions. Small class size will be maintained to ensure active participation and individual attention from instructors. Both face-to-face and online courses will be offered in 2026 Spring Program for the Gifted and Talented. For details, please refer to the Course Description (Chinese version only) on the website of the Program for the Gifted and Talented (PGT).

(2) Parent Activity

PGT also organizes a series of seminars, workshops, and sharing & discussion groups for parents to help them better understand and nurture their gifted children. The Parent Series is open for application on a first-come-first-served basis. For more detailed information on the Parent Series please visit the PGT website.

Course Venue / Format

All selection tests, seminars, courses and workshops (except field trips and specified venues) are held at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shatin, N.T. All online courses are delivered real-time online via Zoom.

Application

Applicants may apply for admission to one or more courses according to their grade levels and interests. Those who want to attend two or more courses must submit separate applications, and avoid taking courses conducted at the same time (please refer to the Summary of Course Schedule for the dates and time of the courses).

Fee

Application FeeA non-refundable fee of HK$250 is to be paid upon submission of each application. Students from families receiving CSSA are exempted from application fee.

Financial Assistance

Applicants experiencing financial difficulties are invited to apply for financial assistance. Decision of award and the amount to be awarded will depend on the applicant’s family financial situation, and will not exceed three-fourths of the tuition fee. Financial assistance applications are assessed independently from program admissions.

Selection Written Test

All applicants have to attend a written selection test at the Chinese University of Hong Kong on February 7 or 14, 2026. All applicants will be notified of their assigned selection test session in writing. Absence from the selection test without prior notice will be considered as withdrawal from application. All applicants will be notified of the selection test format, date and venue via email.

Admission Result

Each application will be examined carefully by the PGT Selection Committee. Selection for admission is based on the applicant’s performance in the PGT selection test, his/her school performance, school recommendation, evidence demonstrating the applicant’s talents and potential provided(such as awards, prizes, other recognitions or IQ assessment reports), and the courses and/or workshops applied. Application results will be announced on the PGT website in March 7, 2026. Applicants will also be individually notified of their application results via email.

Electronic Notification

Program for the Gifted and Talented is committed to promoting sustainable development, actively reducing paper consumption, and contributing to the preservation of the planet's precious forests to mitigate global warming. We will make use of electronic channels to disseminate information. Applicants are therefore required to provide a valid email address to receive the 'Selection Test Notification' and 'Admission Result'. The program will no longer provide a mail-in version of the above documents. If the applicant would like to receive a mail-in version of these documents, a HKD$50 service fee will be charged per program.
