Course Title: Philosophies, Cultures and Values for Life Education
Description:

This course aims to explore how life education is to be grounded in and constructed out of philosophical, cultural and axiological roots. It will critically examine how sources for life education could be critically and creatively retrieved from Chinese and Western philosophies, religious and non-religious forms of cultures and varieties of values traditions. Issues to be explored include: aims of life education, education as cultural practice, philosophical inquiry in values education, life education in religious and non-religious schools in HK, and qualities of life educators and their formation. It will involve theoretical exploration on life education, experiential learning in life education, and inquiry into varieties of practice and pedagogy for life education.
